Changes to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol: How the New Scope 2 Requirements Will Affect You

Changes to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol: How the New Scope 2 Requirements Will Affect You

Thursday February 4, 2016
1:00 -2:00 p.m.

New reporting requirements for Scope 2 GHG emissions will require companies to examine and update their current procedures and methods for calculating Scope 2 emissions.

Among the many changes is that companies will be required to provide dual reporting by two distinct methods: location-based reporting and market-based reporting.

The GHG Protocol Scope 2 Guidance was published in January 2015, and this year companies that report their GHG emissions in accordance with WRI/WBCSD GHG Protocol will be required to follow the new 110-page guidance document.

Attend this webinar to get answers these questions:

  • How does the new guidance affect my Scope 2 GHG emissions calculations?
  • How should I change my reporting format for Scope 2 emissions?
  • How do I account for Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), Green Power purchases and other instruments used for reducing my Scope 2 emissions?
  • Do I need to recalculate my base-year Scope 2 emissions?
  • What are Scope 2 Quality Criteria?

This is an important program for anyone who enters, tracks, reports and reviews GHG emissions data.

Speakers:

  • Lisa Barnes, Practice Line Leader, Sustainability and Climate Change Services; Bureau Veritas S.A.
  • Trevor Donaghu, Technical Director, Climate Change Services; Bureau Veritas S.A.

To Make the Most of an EHS & Sustainability Software Investment, Don’t Skimp on the Implementation

March 7, 2018

Software is a powerful tool for accelerating EHS & Sustainability performance, but even the best tool can fail if it’s not implemented well, according to a new NAEM report that was published today. At the heart of the findings in NAEM’s “Ready, Set, Implement: How to Successfully Deploy an EHS & Sustainability Software System” is that success—or failure— often comes down to how well the company mapped the system to its core processes, trained its users and sold the value to the organization.
