Beth Chacon is Environmental Policy Relations Manager at Xcel Energy. Her responsibilities include supporting and developing environmental policy initiatives. She has worked on state and federal initiatives related to renewable energy and greenhouse gas reduction and the company’s solar energy strategy. She has worked on environmental and sustainability reporting. Beth is a licensed Professional Engineer and received her engineering degree from Purdue University and her Masters of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota.
Blaine Collison, Managing Director - Network Services; Altenex LLC
Blaine Collison is the Managing Director of Network Services for Altenex, helping companies to navigate the international renewable energy market. Prior to joining Altenex, Blaine lead the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s Green Power Partnership, helping more than 1500 commercial and institutional energy buyers source new renewable energy for their U.S. operations. Blaine serves on the board of directors of the Association of Climate Change Officers and the advisory boards of the Sustainable Endowments Institute and the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education.
Gene Hahnenberg, Director - Indirect Sourcing & Procurement Operations; Ingersoll-Rand PLC
Gene Hahnenberg, an Ingersoll Rand employee since 2012, is the director of indirect sourcing and procurement operations. He leads the organization’s global indirect sourcing team in the development and execution of supplier strategies to meet service, delivery, cost and quality requirements covering multiple categories of indirect spend. Gene also leads the procurement operations team who in developing, implementing and managing sourcing standard work and processes. Prior to his current role, he served as the global director of electronics for Ingersoll Rand.
Gene came to Ingersoll Rand from a successful nine-year career with Whirlpool Corporation, culminating in the role of global sourcing director, electro-mechanical and wire harness. During his tenure with Whirlpool, he spent four years living in Shanghai, China, leading their international procurement office. Prior to Whirlpool, Gene was with Intel Incorporation.
Gene has a master’s degree in business administration from Arizona State University, Tempe, and a bachelor’s of science in construction management from Michigan State University, East Lansing. He is a Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) from the Institute for Supply Management.
Lara Hussain, Director, Sustainability Stakeholder Relations; Texas Instruments Inc.
Lara Hussain manages Texas Instruments’ social and environmental performance disclosures and stakeholder engagement, and helps guide sustainability strategy. Lara has been with TI since 2000 and before then worked as a technical writer and environmental journalist.
She is a graduate of Columbia University with a M.P.A. in Environmental Science and Policy. She received a B.A. in Environmental Journalism from the University of North Texas and completed high school at the International School of Bangkok in Thailand. She is a 2007 graduate of Leadership Dallas and a 2005 graduate of the Women’s International Leadership Program. She currently resides in Denver, Colorado.
Diana Jagiella, Global Vice President of EHS; The Mosaic Co.
Diana Jagiella was appointed to her current position as Mosaic’s Vice President for Environment, Health and Safety after having been the Senior Director for Mine Permitting and Regulatory Affairs. She has been with Mosaic since September 2005 after having been a Partner in the law firm of Howard & Howard Attorneys, PC where she focused on advising businesses regarding their environmental and safety obligations.
She earned a BA Degree from Purdue University, a JD degree from the DePaul University College of Law and studied business at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. She is a Member of the Board of Trustees and Treasurer of the Henry Plant Museum and Co-Chair for the American Bar Association’s Water Quality and Wetlands Committee.
John Kerr, Global Sourcing Operations and Strategy Leader; Owens Corning Corp.
John is the Global Operations Leader for Owens Corning’s Strategic Sourcing organization. He leads the OC global supplier management center of excellence, financial planning & analysis, supplier sustainability, and the procure-to-pay cycle.
Previously John was Director of Finance and Operational Excellence for Whirlpool Corporation. He also led, for the past 13 years, Whirlpool’s Global Six Sigma program. John held numerous roles of increasing responsibility with Whirlpool over the past 15 years in areas of Finance, Logistics, Quality, Procurement and Operations.
Marcia Y. Kinter, Vice President – Government & Business Information; Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA)
Ms. Kinter is the Vice President for Government & Business Information for the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association International. Ms. Kinter oversees the development of management resources for the Association and represents the screen printing and digital imaging industries, as well as their associated supplier base, before federal and state regulatory agencies and the U.S. Congress on environmental, safety and other government issues directly impacting the screen printing and graphic imaging industries. She is responsible for directing the activities of not only the government affairs portion of the Association’s activities, but the development and implementation of business resources for the membership.
In 2008, Ms. Kinter, in conjunction with colleagues from other printing trade associations, was instrumental in launching the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership program. The SGP Program is a registry system for printing facilities that includes third party verification. The program successfully launched as an independent organization in August 2008.
Ms. Kinter is a member of and serves as Secretary for the Academy of Screen Printing Technology. In 2001, Ms. Kinter received the William D. Schaeffer Environmental Award for significant advancement of environmental awareness in the graphic arts industry. Before joining SGIA International, Ms. Kinter worked for The American Waterways Operators, Inc., the national association for the barge and towing industry.
Ms. Kinter holds bachelor’s degree in urban planning from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a master’s degree in public administration from George Mason University.
Nicole Krenner, Manager, Sustainability Operational Excellence; 3M
Nicole Krenner is the Sustainability Operational Excellence Manager in the corporate Environmental, Health and Safety Operations organization at 3M. Nicole is a member of 3M’s Sustainability Center of Excellence Leadership Team. Nicole has leadership responsibility for collaborating with the businesses, the R&D community, Lean Six Sigma and others in the 3M Supply Chain organization to drive achievement of the environmental stewardship elements of the current 2015 and future 2025 Sustainability Goals. Other areas of responsibility include leading the Pollution Prevention Pays (3P) program, performing external bench marking, sharing best practices, and helping to measure 3M’s Sustainability success.
Nicole has a had a wide variety of roles within 3M including: Supply Chain Manager in 3M Division, with a specific focus as the Project Manager for Business Transformation (SAP) deployment, Subject Matter Expert for Manufacturing with Release 1 SAP functionality, Product Manager/Operations Management at several 3M facilities, Six Sigma Black Belt, Production Shift Supervisor, Manufacturing Engineer and Product Engineer.
Nicole has a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Montana State University and a Master’s Degree in Technology Management from the University of St. Thomas.
James Margolis, Partner; Environmental Resources Management (ERM)
James Margolis is a Partner with Environmental Resources Management’s (ERM). He has over 20 years of management consulting experience assisting multinational companies in optimizing their environmental, health, safety and sustainability (EHS&S) programs and obtaining additional business value through improved EHS&S management.
Roland Mostovy, Sustainability Program Manager; Ashland Inc.
Roland Mostovy currently is the Corporate Sustainability Program Manager for Ashland Inc. He has been managing and directing the Ashland’s sustainability initiatives since 2012. Prior to joining Ashland in 2011, he worked for International Specialty Products where he was the Senior Manager for Responsible Care and Environmental Auditing. Roland has over thirty years in the food and chemical industry with experience in managing environmental, health, safety and process safety programs and the development and implementation of EHS management systems.
Roland holds a B.S. degree in Science Education from Widener University, a Business Management degree from Rutgers University and M.S degree in Management Science from Stevens Institute of Technology.
Brian Reilly, Director, Development; NRG Energy Inc.
Brian Reilly is responsible for the execution of the Distributed Generation renewable business objectives at NRG Renew, the premier energy company to develop and implement global energy partnerships with Fortune 500 companies. In addition, his team is expanding internationally to define NRG’s renewable offerings and strategy in emerging markets. He has a deep knowledge of the renewable market, having worked at several wind and solar development companies.
S. Blake Schomas, Director of Marketing, Total Plant Assessments; ECOLAB
Mr. Schomas has been with Ecolab for 21 years. In his current role, he is the global manager and developer of Ecolab’s Total Plant Assessment program which is a dedicated and robust process for performing water and energy foot printing, identifying sustainability KPI’s and uncovering water and energy savings opportunities for the food and beverage manufacturing industry. Blake is versed in utility operations as well as sanitation systems and pest control systems.
He has a BS from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from University of Wisconsin-River Falls, and was an officer in the US Navy and US Army Reserve.
Laura Scott, Environmental Manager; NRG Energy Inc.
Laura Scott is an Environmental Manager in the corporate Environmental Compliance and Sustainability program for the largest competitive electricity generator in the United States and a leading retail provider of electricity and energy services.
NRG is at the forefront of changing how people think about and use energy. Whether as the largest solar power developer in the country or by giving customers the latest tools to better manage their energy use, NRG is a pioneer in developing smarter energy choices.
Laura’s responsibilities include the development and implementation of strategies to share best management practices and improve environmental performance and sustainability across NRG generating plants and assists with managing “econrg” NRG Energy’s initiative for environmentally responsibility. These efforts have resulted in a 49% improvement in environmental compliance performance since 2011.
Laura obtained her BS in Education from Sam Houston State University and MS in Environmental Management from University of Maryland University College. She is a Girl Scout Leader and enjoys volunteering with the Galveston Bay Foundation and Trees for Houston.
Morgan Scott, Technical Lead - Sustainability; The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI)
Morgan Scott joined the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) in January of 2015 as a Sustainability Technical Lead and Project Manager. In this role, Ms. Scott contributes to EPRI’s growing portfolio of sustainability research, focused on the areas of materiality, maturity, and metrics. Ms. Scott co-manages EPRI’s Energy Sustainability Interest Group, a collaborative forum for electric power company sustainability managers to strategically advance sustainable generation and distribution of electricity. This effort includes over 40 electric utilities and is the largest collective group in the industry addressing sustainability. She also serves as a member of the steering committee leading EPRI’s own Corporate Social Responsibility effort.
Prior to joining EPRI, Ms. Scott was the Sustainability Manager at Consolidated Edison Company of New York, a Fortune 500 company providing electric, gas, and steam services to the City of New York and surrounding counties. In this role, Ms. Scott managed the company’s sustainability strategy and associated initiatives, including the redesign of their sustainability strategy to better align it with the triple bottom line concept and the company’s material issues. Additionally, she managed the production of the company’s annual sustainability report and voluntary reporting to organizations such as CDP and the Global Reporting Initiative, among others. Prior to the role of Sustainability Manager, Ms. Scott held positions of increasing responsibility during her tenure at Con Edison in the areas of Procurement, Customer Service, Energy Management, and Environment, Health & Safety.
Ms. Scott received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Wagner College and a Master of Science in Sustainability Management from Columbia University.
Elizabeth Singleton, Director, Advisory Groups; Sustainability Accounting Standards Board
Elizabeth Singleton manages engagement with key stakeholders in SASB’s standards setting process, developing and maintaining key relationships and partnerships to ensure robust engagement from corporations, investors, and intermediaries during key phases of development of the SASB standards. Elizabeth has worked across the spectrum of social impact from international development in Tanzania to philanthropy strategy to corporate sustainability strategy and business development.
Prior to joining SASB Elizabeth ran her own start up, worked as a Strategy Officer at the Gordon & Betty Moore Foundation, and held a variety of roles working on sustainability and business development at The Dow Chemical Company. Early in her career, Elizabeth co-founded the Tanzania Natural Resource Forum, building alliances and influencing policy to support rights-based management of natural resources in Tanzania.
She serves on the Board of two conservation organizations, The Snow Leopard Trust and Maliasili Initiatives. She is also a member of the Alumni Advisory Board to the Center for Responsible Business at the Haas School of Business.
Elizabeth holds an MBA from University of California, Haas School of Business, where she was a Brian Maxwell Fellow, and an AB from Princeton University
