Governance Committees
Our Committees

The Board of Directors, through the Board's Executive Committee, has oversight for the operations of the Association and is responsible for setting the overall policy and direction of the association. Additionally, the Board assists the NAEM Executive Director by establishing goals and objectives for the organization.

The Executive Committee is elected every two years. On the alternate year, individuals are elected to the Board of Directors. The Board's actions are supported through the work of ad hoc committees.

Board member-led committees also guide the Association's programming. Participation in these committees is open to all NAEM members. Individual NAEM members may participate in any of the general membership committees, such as our annual EHS conference the Forum, and our peer-to-peer environmental conferences and webinars.

To Make the Most of an EHS & Sustainability Software Investment, Don’t Skimp on the Implementation

March 7, 2018

Software is a powerful tool for accelerating EHS & Sustainability performance, but even the best tool can fail if it’s not implemented well, according to a new NAEM report that was published today. At the heart of the findings in NAEM’s “Ready, Set, Implement: How to Successfully Deploy an EHS & Sustainability Software System” is that success—or failure— often comes down to how well the company mapped the system to its core processes, trained its users and sold the value to the organization.
