How Do You Use LCA in Business Decision-Making?
Thursday, June 19, 2014
8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Location: 3M Innovation Center,
2350 Minnehaha Ave. East,
Maplewood, MN 55119
Life cycle assessments (LCA) are not all created equal. There is the standard cradle to grave which looks at all environmental impacts of a product and raw materials extraction through disposal/reuse. There are others that look only at the energy consumption of a product. The reasons for conducting a LCA are varied- business strategy, education, product labeling/declarations or product/process design. LCA's are becoming increasingly common. LCAs can also be used as a tool to better understand risks in your supply chain.
The meeting will identify some the regulatory drivers for performing some level of life cycle assessment. In addition, we will hear what 3M Co. and Tennant Co. are doing in this area.
