Director, Environmental Programs and Sustainability

Karen Siebenberger is the Global Director of Environmental Programs and Sustainability for Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals is a diversified pharmaceutical company with ten manufacturing sites, representing 5500 employees and global revenues in excess of $2 billion.

Karen reports to the Vice President of Environmental, Health Safety and Sustainability and is responsible for leading environmental compliance programs and sustainability across the company. She is a results oriented EHS professional with over 30 years of proven leadership experience. In 1983 she joined Mallinckrodt as an Environmental Chemist at the original St. Louis Plant, and has held positions of increasing responsibility within the company.

Karen's position has included oversight of up to 22 manufacturing and R&D locations and has expanded to include Sustainability and Product Stewardship. In this role, Karen and her team have the responsibility for identifying opportunities for improvement, combining cost reduction and productivity increases and developing innovative solutions across a wide range of sustainability and environmental issues. She and her staff strive for improving and sharing best management practices and strong compliance assurance programs.

Siebenberger received bachelor degrees in Biology and Chemistry from St. Louis University and a double Masters of Science degree in Marketing and Management from Maryville University. She has been a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager.
