Margery Moore is with the Bureau of National Affairs (BNA), and co-wrote the original EHS Benchmark Report. She currently manages strategic alliances for BNA and also writes a column. In addition, she participates in a weekly radio program, GreenSense Radio, out of Chicago that reports on the top climate and energy BNA stories of the week. She also works as an environmental and sustainability, information specialist designing new environmental web applications for BNA's private and public sector clients. Margery serves on several industry advisory boards, including; National Association of Environmental Managers (NAEM), and the Association for Climate Change Officers, (ACCO) advising on environmental and sustainability software as well as compliance and regulatory management processes. In her spare time she runs a Canadian charitable, organization, The Institute for Sustainability Education & Action, on Salt Spring Island, BC. She has a Masters in Environmental Management Information Systems, from University of Victoria, B.C. and lives part-time in DC, and in BC.
Carol Singer Neuvelt
Carol Singer Neuvelt is the Executive Director of NAEM - The National Association for Environmental Management. In this position, she has had a bird’s eye view of trends and developments in the EHS and sustainability job market over the past 15 years, and has her finger on the pulse of the rising field of green jobs. Under her leadership, the association has grown from a small group of environmental professionals to the largest professional community of corporate environmental, health and safety and sustainability decision-makers. Prior to NAEM, Ms. Neuvelt served as the Deputy Director for the United States. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Office of Public Liaison under Administrator William Reilly. In addition to her responsibilities managing the agency’s interaction with external stakeholders, Ms. Neuvelt was integral to the creation and implementation of EPA’s national Pollution Prevention Awards program involving all 10 EPA Regions. Ms. Neuvelt served as the Congressional Affairs Officer for the United States Trade Representative in the Executive Office of
Stephen W. Walker is the Senior Partner of the Foushée Group, Inc. He has more than 15 years in the EHS/ management consulting fields and currently leads one of the longest running EHS compensation surveys. He specializes in incentive plan design and implementation, salary and wage administration program development and compensation survey design and development. In the field of compensation, Mr. Walker has managed projects in a variety of industries including; high technology, engineering services, information systems, national laboratories, pharmaceutical, energy and venture capital. He has worked with senior management to review and develop compensation programs that are designed to serve the business objectives and management philosophies unique to each organization. Mr. Walker has designed and developed on-line an electronic compensation survey questionnaire and report program to be used by the Foushée Group for their annual environmental, health and safety and security and compliance compensation survey’s.
Prior to joining the firm, he developed compensation strategies for The Coca-Cola Company worldwide and previously was a Senior Compensation Consultant for LSI Logic Corporation where he designed, developed and administered exempt and nonexempt salary programs, developed incentive programs, and developed policy and procedures for annual reviews for 2,500 employees.
Mr. Walker holds a B.S. Degree in Business Administration, and is a former Commissioned Officer in the United States Marine Corps. He is a frequent lecturer to professional and business groups, author, faculty member for the CSO Executive Council, and is a member of a variety of human resources and compensation organizations. In 2009, Mr. Walker was recognized by Security Magazine as one of the most influential people in the security field.
