New NAAQS Standards Could Affect Your Company's Compliance

New primary and secondary ozone national ambient air quality standards (NAAQS) were finalized on December 28, 2015 by the USEPA. Nationwide, numerous counties are expected to be designated as non-attainment (NA) areas in the next 2-3 years.

Such designation will trigger control and permitting requirements from the State Agencies for ozone precursors – namely nitrogen oxides (NOx) and volatile organic compounds (VOC). These precursors are emitted from diverse facilities such as oil & gas, chemical, petrochemical, manufacturing, paper & pulp, and electric utilities.

Companies will need to understand the requirements for the new ozone NAAQS to plan for these changes and ensure compliance.

This webinar will provide:

  • an overview of the ozone NAAQS
  • How to plan for more stringent control requirements
  • How to plan for complex air permitting in ozone NA areas

Speakers:

  • Arijit Pakrasi, Ph.D. P.E., Director; CB&I Co.
  • Chris Howard P.E., Project Manager; CB&I Co.

Green Tie Blog Post

While most of us were still focusing on family, food and festivities, the revision to new Ozone national ambient air quality standard (NAAQS) became effective on December 28, 2015. As a result of this regulatory action, many new areas will now face more stringent emission control for nitrogen oxides (NOx) and volatile organic compounds (VOC). This also means that permitting of modifications and growth in these areas will become more complex; and that early planning for Capex projects will be necessary to avoid delays in permit approvals. To help you prepare for this sweeping new regulation, Arijit Pakrasi provides a quick overview of the new regulatory requirements and the key milestones for its implementation - http://www.thegreentie.org/articles/new-ozone-rules-could-mean-costly-changes-for-companies
