Dr. Kenneth W. Ayers is a Managing Director of Aon’s Environmental Services Group ESG). His areas of specialization within the environmental community include hazardous waste management, remediation of contaminated sites, regulatory compliance, and environmental modeling. Ken’s areas of specialization within the insurance industry include: risk assessment and modeling, financial modeling of legacy and future environmental liabilities, and structuring intricate environmental risk financing mechanism. Within the Environmental Services Group, Dr. Ayers serves as a senior manager for the Group and a technical resource available to all Aon clients.
Dr. Ayers has had more than 30 years of experience in providing professional services related to the environmental and construction industries. Immediately prior to joining Aon, Ken was the Managing Director of Breitstone & Co. Ltd., a specialized consulting firm providing assistance to parties engaged in complex transactions involving construction and environmental risks. He has also been the president of a full-service environmental engineering firm; Chief Executive Officer of the Willis Environmental Practice; a senior manager with the United States Environmental Protection Agency's Superfund Program; and an environmental engineer with the U.S. Army, U.S. Public Health Service and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Dr. Ayers has published numerous articles in scientific, academic and risk management journals and is a frequent speaker on topics of environmental technology, environmental risk, risk modeling and risk financing.
Ken received his Doctor of Philosophy in Environmental Engineering from Vanderbilt University, a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of Minnesota, a Master of Public Administration from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Texas and Tennessee. He also has been named a Diplomat of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers.

Stephen Evanoff is the Vice President of Environment, Health & Safety for AIMCO, the largest apartment management firm in the nation. He is responsible for all aspects of the company’s workplace safety, occupational health and environmental management programs, spanning 1,300 properties and nearly one million residents in 46 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
Prior to his current position, he held executive management positions with Lockheed Martin Corporation. His most recent assignment was Corporate Director of Energy, Environment, Safety, & Health (“EESH”) Central Services. He also was responsible for EESH government relations with federal and state agencies. He managed the corporation’s largest environmental remediation project with an annual operating budget of $20 million.
He was a US Representative to United Nations Environment Programme under the Montreal Protocol on Ozone Layer Protection, where he recommended technologies for eliminating stratospheric ozone depleting chemicals from aerospace manufacturing and co-authored United Nations technical reports. Stephen served five years active duty in the U.S. Air Force and received the Air Force Commendation Medal.
He has been corporate representative to nine national environmental Boards and Associations. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Chemical Engineering and is a distinguished graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology and the Air Force ROTC program. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Colorado and Texas, a Board Certified Environmental Engineer, a Board Certified Safety Professional, and a Registered Environmental Manager.

Robert J. Barkanic is the Senior Director of the Environmental Management Department for PPL Services Corporation. In that capacity he provides vision for the company’s environmental activities, communicates with regulatory agencies and other environmental stakeholders, and provides expert environmental support to the company’s business lines. PPL Corporation, based in Allentown, Pennsylvania, is a Fortune 500 company with over 10,000 megawatts of generation capacity and about six million customers worldwide.
Prior to joining PPL Corporation, Mr. Barkanic was the Deputy Secretary for the Office of Air, Recycling and Radiation Protection for the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, appointed on January 26, 2002, by Governor Schweiker. This Deputate was responsible for establishing the policy and strategic direction for the Department’s Air Quality, Land Recycling, Waste Management and Radiation Protection programs. These multi-media programs included: indoor and outdoor air quality, stationary and mobile sources of air pollution, Land Recycling program for brownfields, hazardous sites cleanup, municipal waste, landfills and recycling, tanks remediation, Superfund, RCRA, multi-site remediation, radon, nuclear safety, low-level radioactive waste, and environmental radiation programs.
Mr. Barkanic was also the Deputy Secretary for the Office of Pollution Prevention and Compliance Assistance for the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, appointed in May of 1999 by Governor Ridge. This Deputate, created in January 1996, worked with citizen groups, businesses, trade organizations, local governments and communities to help Pennsylvanians understand and apply pollution prevention, energy efficiency and environmentally sound technology practices into their daily decision-making process.
Prior to his Deputy Secretary appointments, he had served as the Executive Director for the 21st Century Environment Commission since August 1998. He had also served as the Assistant Director for that Commission and was the Special Assistant to the Deputy Secretary for Air, Recycling and Radiation Protection, Department of Environmental Protection.
Mr. Barkanic had joined the Department in January 1993 as a Senior Nuclear Engineer, a post that he held until August 1995. Mr. Barkanic is a registered professional civil engineer with a Master’s Degree in Engineering Science.
Prior to joining the Department, Mr. Barkanic was an engineer and engineering manager with the Bechtel Power Corporation.

Frank Brandauer is the Director of Environmental Health & Safety Services for Avery Dennison. As the company's top EHS professional he leads its worldwide EHS programs. Specific areas of activity include supervision of the EHS management systems, liability reserves, compliance program, data systems and acquisition/divestiture due diligence efforts. Prior to Avery, Frank was responsible for Environmental and Safety activities for Tenneco Oil Company's exploration and production activities in California, Oregon and Washington. He has also worked as an environmental consultant in the areas of water and waste management for Cochrane Associates in Boston, MA. Frank currently holds the post of President on NAEM’s Board of Directors.
Frank has been in environmental, health and safety management for over 25 years and has his MS degree in Environmental Engineering and a BS degree in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University in MA. Frank is a registered Professional Engineer (PE), a Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) and a Registered Environmental Assessor (RA) in the State of California.

Scott Denler is a Vice President with Civil and Environmental Consultants and has over 16-years of environmental, health and safety experience from a variety of industries including automotive, electronics, government contract work and consulting. At CEC’s Indianapolis office, Mr. Dendler provides technical expertise on Environmental Health and Safety compliance and program development projects including both environmental and health and safety related risk assessments for clients nationwide. Mr. Dendler is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) with the Board of Certified Safety Professionals and is a professional member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE ). He is a Certified Environmental Auditor (CEA) and a Registered Environmental Manager (REM) with the National Registry of Environmental Professionals and is a member of the Auditing Roundtable. Mr. Dendler has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and a Masters in Business Administration from Auburn University.

John Fillo is a Senior Consultant at ERM Information Solutions. He has over 30 years of experience in environmental, health and safety (EHS) management; the assessment, design and improvement of internal controls and procedures for ensuring effective compliance, risk and liability management, and performance improvement; environmental financial accounting; and sustainability.
John’s client work encompasses EHS-related process/ controls/systems assessment and development; organization, work process and performance assessment/improvement; auditing program development/implementation and assessment/ improvement; multimedia environmental compliance/ permitting; property acquisition/due diligence assessment and merger integration; process hazard and related risk assessment/management; evaluation and testing of processes/controls, and reported environmental financial liabilities and disclosures; waste management/minimization/pollution prevention; assessment of EHS business risks and economic impacts; data reporting and assurance; procurement contracting/ management; and program management.
His industry experience encompasses oil and gas exploration/production, petroleum refining, pipeline operations and marketing/retail, gas/electric utility generation and T&D, chemicals, iron/steel manufacturing, mining, metallurgical processing, pharmaceuticals, financial services, transportation, pulp/paper, diversified manufacturing, consumer products, and manufactured gas/coal-based synthetic fuels. International experience encompasses work in Canada, China, Eastern and Western Europe, Mexico, Russia and South America.

Dr. Jon Frisch is the Principal Risk Manager at PG&E Corporation, the parent company to Pacific Gas and Electric Company, which serves over 15 million customers in Northern California.
He is in charge of the Corporation’s Enterprise Risk Management program, reporting to the Chief Risk Officer and to the Board of Directors.
Jon has previously served as the Senior Program Manager for health programs at Pacific Gas and Electric Company, as the Manager of Health Research at the American Petroleum Institute in Washington DC, and as the manager of regulatory health programs for the Unocal Corporation in Los Angeles.
He has a doctorate in epidemiology, a master’s degree in public health, and a bachelor’s degree in Biophysics and Medical Physics, all from U.C. Berkeley.
Jon also serves as the designated Health member of the California Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board. This 7-member Board is the only regulatory body in California permitted to create health and safety regulations. Jon’s appointment to the Board in 2006 by Governor Schwarzenegger recognized his achievements in working at the intersection of health, environment, safety, and business risk.

Dr. MacNair
is the Principal Economist for Triangle Economic Research, an ARCADIS Company. TER provides environmental economic and environmental consulting support for industrial clients and helps clients manage their environmental liabilities as a business by using quantitative and economic tools. Dr. MacNair has more than 20 years of professional experience.
Dr. MacNair assists industrial clients in conducting portfolio liability assessments and managing EHS risks. He develops tools and statistical analyses for evaluating and prioritizing financial, human-health, environmental, and corporate reputation risk management. He facilitates focus groups of corporate executives and staff to develop risk management strategies. He also develops comprehensive cost-benefit analyses that include the recreational benefits and environmental health costs in evaluating projects.
Dr. MacNair has a BA in history and an MA and PhD in Economics from the University of New York and North Carolina State respectively.

Becky L. Randolph, CIH is a Project Manager for Environmental Data Solutions Group. Becky has considerable experience with the design, development and implementation of health and safety information management systems. With over 20 years of health and safety experience, she has developed a strong background in providing health and safety services with the last 15 years focusing on information management projects. In particular, Ms. Randolph has developed an expertise in exposure assessment, performance metrics and risk management. She has lectured frequently on topics including “Operational Risk –An Industry Prospective” and “Risk Reduction Metrics.”

Yvonne Slate is the Safety Engineering Manager at Lockheed Martin Corporation’s System Integration business located in Owego, New York. Ms. Slate leads a staff with responsibility for the safety of the 4,000 employees working at this facility, whose products include the U.S. Navy VH-71 Presidential Helicopter (prime contractor and systems integrator), distribution systems for the U.S. Postal Service, and tactical wheeled vehicles for the U.S. Marine Corp and U.S. Army.
In addition, Ms. Slate serves as the project manager for Lockheed Martin’s Corporate Energy, Environment, Safety and Health organization’s ongoing development of an ESH risk assessment tool that will be deployed for use across the entire corporation.
Ms. Slate has been with Lockheed Martin for over 18 years with 14 years experience in a number of Environment, Safety and Health site operations and Corporate positions.
Yvonne holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management Science from the University of North Florida and a Master of Science degree in Vocational Education from the State University of New York - Oswego.
