The NAEM Upper Midwest Chapter cordially invites you to the spring chapter meeting at Liberty Diversified International. This meeting will focus on developing leaders, the behavioral and cultural aspects of training programs, and learning management system design and execution.

  • Leadership is not taught in schools, yet leadership is critical for environmental, health, and safety programs to be effective. We will be exploring how to recognize positive and negative leaders and how to develop leadership from the front line supervisor and EHS Professionals to the plant manager.
  • Recognizing and managing your company's culture is critical to understanding and managing EHS performance. Performance is driven by employee behaviors, and employee behaviors are driven by the intangible aspects of your company's culture that are not written down in policies, programs and procedures. Every company has a culture; the question is whether the culture supports your EHS objectives and how you manage that culture.
  • Learning Management Systems can be powerful tools to help EHS professionals schedule, deliver, and track the extensive EHS training that is required on an annual basis. We will delve into the design, configuration, customization, and implementation of Learning Management Systems.
The meeting will be followed by an optional networking lunch to allow continued discussion and networking with your peers! Come to learn and more importantly share what works well for your organization!

To Make the Most of an EHS & Sustainability Software Investment, Don’t Skimp on the Implementation

March 7, 2018

Software is a powerful tool for accelerating EHS & Sustainability performance, but even the best tool can fail if it’s not implemented well, according to a new NAEM report that was published today. At the heart of the findings in NAEM’s “Ready, Set, Implement: How to Successfully Deploy an EHS & Sustainability Software System” is that success—or failure— often comes down to how well the company mapped the system to its core processes, trained its users and sold the value to the organization.
