Culture is often loosely defined as what people do when no one is watching. Building a culture of safety is not a quick and easy process, but involves compassionate and competent leadership, engaged employees, and robust standards and processes. Speakers will share stories of their experiences on the Safety Culture journey, and provide ideas and guidance for those who might be ready to become agents of change in their own company.

Speaker biographies:

James Yeager

James Yeager

Jimmy Yeager, MPH is a Senior Staff Safety Engineer with Lockheed Martin (LM) and has over 20 years of experience at both the programmatic and enterprise level. For the past 10 years Jimmy has supported LM’s Corporate Energy, Environment, Safety, and Health (EESH) organization; where he has been responsible for leading Safety, Health, and Remediation projects as part of LM’s Target Zero and Environmental Initiatives. Prior to LM, Jimmy held various safety engineering positions within the manufacturing industry.

Jimmy is a graduate of Tulane University with a Master’s in Public Health and focus on Safety & Health Management and holds an undergraduate degree from Keene State College with a BS in Safety & Health and Minor in Business Management.

Gary Cluck

Gary Cluck

Gary joined Brother International Corporation in January of 2016 as Senior Manger Environmental Health & Safety in Bartlett, TN. Prior to joining Brother International Corporation, Gary worked over 20 years in the field of safety, starting as a Safety Supervisor at W.M. Barr & Company Inc. He has held positions of increasing responsibility in the chemical and food manufacturing industries to include Ralston Purina Pet Products, Kroger, and the Schwan's Food Company. His experience and expertise include facility safety and security inspections, promoting employee engagement (safety committee, communication and visibility) across departments and business units, employee training, program development, best practices implementation, and managing EHS compliance at multi-site food manufacturing facilities and DC's.

Gary holds Bachelor's degree in Health & Safety from Memphis State University and a Masters in Geography with a concentration in Cultural Ecology from the University of Memphis. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family in Florida and is the owner/roaster of a specialty small batch coffee business.

Todd Hohn

Todd Hohn

As part of PG&E's executive team, Todd Hohn, CSP implements and delivers effective integrated health, safety and operational learning programs across the enterprise. Prior to joining PG&E, he was the Founder and Executive Director of UL's Integrated Health & Safety Institute where he acted as the safety ambassador delivering on UL's mission to promote safe living and working environments around the world. Todd is the U.S Delegate for the creation of the new ISO 45001 global standard for Occupational Health and Safety, is the Honors and Awards Chairperson for ASSE's Construction Practice Specialty and is a Board Member for HR.com advising them on emerging health and safety issues. Prior to his current role with PG&E he was with UL's Workplace Health and Safety practice where he led their Strategic Resources group and was integral to providing online safety training and risk management software solutions for organizations in the United States and internationally. He was also responsible for leadership of UL's business development initiatives, providing strategic input into sales and product strategy, supporting the client base and further establishing UL as a thought leader and true innovator in the industry.

Prior to working with UL, Todd worked with both Predictive Solutions and CNA Insurance. With Predictive Solutions, Todd was responsible for assisting businesses in the creation and implementation of predictive modeling products and solutions. At CNA, Todd was Assistant Vice President and Officer for Risk Control, managing the Casualty and Commercial Segments business globally. In that capacity, he was responsible for profit and loss issues, and the creation of their international products and consulting services for this multi-billion dollar book of business including their industry leading School of Risk Control Excellence.

Todd received his B.S. degree in Safety from Illinois State University and completed the Advanced Executive Education Program at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business, as well as the Executive Development Program at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.

Todd speaks frequently to industry experts at risk management, health and safety conferences on topics ranging from creating cultures of health, safety and learning, safety analytics, human error and organizational alignment. He is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and a Professional Member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE).

Jamie Burget

Jamie Burget, CSP is a Staff Safety Engineer with Lockheed Martin (LM) and has over 15 years of experience in the Safety and Health field. For the past 5 years Jamie has supported Lockheed Martin's Corporate Energy, Environment, Safety, and Health (EESH) organization; where he is responsible for leading workforce engagement and risk reduction programs as part of Lockheed Martin's Target Zero Initiative. Prior to Lockheed Martin, Jamie held various safety engineering positions with NASA and General Motors.
