Director of Environmental Health and Safety - Kansas State University; Manhattan, Kansas
Kansas State University is looking for an EHS Director. The director will be asked to provide leadership, knowledge and interpretations of federal and state regulations, codes and requirements. The director will also develop and manage a highly technical service organization to support university research, academic and support system programs. To this effect, the director will work to establish a proactive safety culture throughout all K-State departments, units and campuses. This individual will also act as the Associate Director of the Division of Public Safety. The ideal candidate will direct university-wide programs to maintain and ensure consistent and effective safety programs that are responsive to the needs of Kansas State University, a diverse research university. This includes but is not limited to asbestos, lead, hazardous waste, hazardous materials, radioactive materials, bio safety, fire safety, occupational safety, ventilation, environmental pollution and risk management issues. Master's degree in engineering, biology, chemistry, physics, physical science, environmental science, industrial hygiene, occupational safety, fire safety or other closely related fields is required along with six years experience in environmental science, industrial hygiene, occupational safety, fire safety. PhD in engineering, biology, chemistry, physics, physical science, environmental science, industrial hygiene, occupational safety, fire safety or closely related fields preferred. Experience managing an environmental health and safety department at a college or university as director or assistant director a plus.

Associate Director of Environmental Health and Safety - Bowdoin College; Brunswick, Maine
The Associate Director of Environmental Health and Safety serves as a safety and environmental compliance manager, overseeing the implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive environmental health and safety program for Bowdoin College. He/she ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations and standards- including but not limited to - radiation safety, environmental health, chemical control, industrial hygiene, OHSA, and fire safety. The Associate Director partners with academic and administrative departments to ensure proper training and compliance with applicable laws and mandates. The position will provide leadership for policy management and development and procedures for safety compliance (including lab safety, lab audits, etc.) and for emergency response protocols. The Associate Director will maintain information databases and files as required to meet all safety, environmental and regulatory requirements. BS/BA degree in related science or engineering field required; advanced degree in related science or engineering field preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DEP, NFPA, MSDS, and state regulations a plus. Must be trained in RCRA Hazardous waste regulations and in the transportation of DOT Hazardous materials. This position requires at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in occupational environmental health and safety. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and/or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHHM), or equivalent certification preferred.

Regional EHS Manager - Masonite International Corp.; Marshfield, Wisconsin
The Regional EHS Manager will assess, maintain, and administer the EHS and loss control programs at each facility within the assigned region, ensuring full compliance with EHS regulations and policies, working to reduce injuries and workers compensation costs, ensuring corrective actions are taken to forestall EHS incidents or prevent reoccurrence, and coaching and counseling employees in their responsibilities at each site. This position is based in Marshfield, WI and will require up to 50% travel to Algoma, WI, Thorp, WI, and Birchwood, WI. Responsibilities include maintaining work injury and illness records and analyzing records to prevent future injuries and illnesses. The ideal candidate will also be asked to prepare reports for management on safety performance and justifying safety measures and administer hygiene programs and testing, and interpret results. BS/BA in a related field (Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety/Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Environmental Engineering/Science, Engineering, Management) with at least seven years related EHS experience in a manufacturing environment, or proven experience deemed to equal or exceed formal education. Experience with Lean Sigma preferred but not required.
