NAEM will hold elections for its Board of Directors on October 25, 2016. This election will be conducted via a slate of nominations and approved by the Board of Regents. The following is the proposed slate of officers of the NAEM Board of Directors for the 2017-2018 term.

Rodney Canada, Vice-President of Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability; CP Kelco (J.M. Huber Corp.)

Rodney Canada is the Vice-President of Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability for CP Kelco, a JM Huber company. He leads EHS&S for CP Kelco's global operations which consists of specialty chemicals facilities in the US, Brazil, Europe and Asia. His EHS&S career has spanned over 32 years working with global organizations in diverse fields such as chemicals, mining, heavy civil construction and manufacturing giving him a broad perspective on EHS&S issues.

Rodney has actively contributed to NAEM over the last several years by speaking at the 2015 Compliance Conference and the 2015 EHS Management Forum in Charlotte, writing for the Green Tie blog and participating on the survey development committee for NEAM's Staffing, Structure and Budgets benchmark. This past July, Rodney hosted a meeting of approximately 35 Atlanta-area NAEM members at the JM Huber offices in Atlanta to start reestablishing the Atlanta chapter of NAEM.

Rodney's education includes a Master's degrees in Environmental Engineering from the University of Louisville and a MBA degree from Emory University in Atlanta.

Thomas Day, Chief Sustainability Officer; United States Postal Service

Thomas Day was named Chief Sustainability Officer for the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) in June 2011. He leads the USPS effort of being a sustainability leader by creating a culture of conservation throughout the Postal Service and leading the adoption of sustainable business practices.

Prior to serving in this role, he was Senior Vice President, Intelligent Mail and Address Quality (2007-2011) and Senior Vice President, Government Relations (2005-2007). From 2001-2005, he was Vice President, Engineering.

Tom is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering in 1978. He represented the Postal Service as a Sloan Fellow at Stanford University's Graduate School of Business, where he earned a Master of Science degree in management in 1996.

Allen Stegman, General Director Environmental; BNSF Railway

Allen M. Stegman is General Director Environmental for BNSF Railway and has more than 25 years of experience in the Environmental, Health and Safety field. At BNSF, one of the largest transportation providers in the United States as well as one of the largest landowners, his core responsibilities include remediation and environmental liability management, emergency response, data/document management, acquisitions, divestitures, metrics and project controls.Prior to joining BNSF, Allen was the Director of Safety and Environmental Affairs for a global chemical company.

Allen has been involved with NAEM for many years and has served on the Board of Regents for over 15 years. Allen was also the NAEM EHS Management Forum Chair in 2014, has participated on the Forum Committee, the Board of Directors Governance Committee, various benchmarking committee's and has been involved in numerous NAEM events as an attendee, moderator or speaker.

He has a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering with an option in Biochemical Engineering from the University of Missouri.

Kym Fawcett, Senior Manager of Safety and Social Responsibility; Enerplus Corp.

Kym Fawcett a skilled professional with more than 25 years' experience in environment, sustainability, regulatory compliance and permitting, stakeholder engagement/indigenous affairs, and health and safety matters. She is currently the Senior Manager of Safety and Social Responsibility for Enerplus Corporation. Her department oversees all matters and activities pertaining to health, safety, environment, sustainability, regulatory, stakeholder engagement, HSE & SD education programs, and indigenous affairs for the Corporation.

Prior to joining Enerplus in 2008, Kym worked for ConocoPhillips as Team Lead, Oil Sands, Environment and Stakeholder Engagement.Kym began her career as an environmental consultant working on environmental impact assessments, environmental management and regulatory permitting, for a variety of natural resource sectors.

Recently, Kym served as President of the Canadian Heavy Oil Association (2012 to 2014), a multi-discipline, volunteer-based, not-for-profit professional association focused on providing education, technical and networking opportunities for its over 2,300 members.

Kym's B.Sc studies were obtained through Okanagan College in British Columbia and Central State University in Oklahoma.

Megan Lumis the Director of Environmental, Gas and Electric Transmission at Pacific Gas & Electric Co. In this capacity she is privileged to lead a team of about 110 professionals, who provide environmental compliance support for the company's gas and electric transmission facilities and projects.

Megan has been a member of the NAEM Board of Regents since 2010. She has been active contributor to the annual EHS Management Forum as a speaker, moderator and Chair of the planning committee. She is also an enthusiastic participant in NAEM's benchmarking committees, communications efforts and Women's Leadership group.

She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in chemical engineering from the University of Windsor and an Executive MBA from the University of Washington. She is also a registered professional engineer and was one of the original ISO 14001-certified auditors. She is Senior Life Member of the Society of Women Engineers, for which she has served on the Board of Directors and is currently active in their public policy committee.

David Newman is the Senior Director of EHS for Comcast Cable's Northeast Division, which includes 24,000 employees and 1,000 sites, and spans from Maine to North Carolina.

Prior to joining Comcast, Mr. Newman was with Millipore Corp., where he served in roles including Head of EHS, Facilities & Sustainability; and then later Plant Manager. Before Millipore he worked in EHS consulting in the semiconductor and electronics industry.

David has been dedicated to NAEM over many years. He has been on the Board of Regents, and attended theNAEM EHS Management Forum since 2003. David has been involved with the NAEM New England Chapter and its meetings during this time. Last year he brought a group of six team members to the Forum in Charlotte, and this year he plans to bring eight. He served one term (2012-2013) on the Board of Directors, and has been a speaker at the Forum for many years. He was recently featured on the NAEM Green Tie blog.

He has master degrees in Public Health and Industrial Environmental Management. He is also an avid skier, EMT, firefighter and a dad.

Nicole Wilkinson joined NAEM in 2014 and has participated on the Board of Regents, where she has actively participated in the meetings. She also served on the advisory committee for the 2016 Staffing, Structure and Budgets benchmark.

Nicole believes in the NAEM mission to connect and empower EHS and sustainability leaderstoadvance EHS and sustainability programs. She often uses the connections that she has made while participating in NAEM as well as the information and benchmarking provided to the membership. Nicole has worked in both retail and the power utility sectors, and she can provide perspective from both segments of NAEM's membership.

David Williams, Director of Environment and Sustainability for Teva Pharmaceuticals, specializes in helping businesses meet today's challenges while doing the right things to be better tomorrow. He combines his EHS leadership experience with expertise in Operational Excellence and information technology to deliver lasting value and change.

In his current role, David has global responsibility for program and project management across a network of over 85 operating locations. His focus is on leading global wastewater management and pharmaceuticals in the environment programs. He is also the champion for a newly formed global wastewater management community of practice designed to leverage Teva's wastewater expertise across the entire operating network.

His professional experience spans the spectrum of line function, business unit and corporate roles. He has successfully managed teams of up to 22 people with annual budgets of nearly $8 million. David has travelled to, and worked in, 19 countries and understands how to drive change across cultures.

Outside of work David enjoys spending time with his wife, two grown daughters and his dog, a Havanese. David is a motorcycling and alpine skiing enthusiast and when not out on two wheels or sliding down a mountain he can be found on a small stream, fly fishing for trout.

NAEM’s 2018 EHS&S Forum to Offer Specialized Content for Retail Leaders

The National Association for Environmental Management (NAEM) will collaborate with the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) to develop specialized retail-focused content for its 2018 EHS&S Management Forum in Louisville, the association announced today.
