Originally from the Big Island of Hawai'i, Leila is dedicated to fostering healthy communities and empowering individuals through innovative public health initiatives. Currently serving as a Public Health Program Coordinator at the City of Austin, Leila collaborates with the Mayor's Health and Well-Being Council to promote wellness among employers, employees, and school campuses. Her expertise encompasses tobacco-free living, nutrition, physical activity, mental health, and health education, with a strong commitment to health equity and reaching underrepresented populations. With a diverse background in program coordination, team management, and community engagement, Leila excels in partnership development with educational institutions, organizations, and local businesses.
