Robert Murphy

Bob Murphy is the Vice President of Safety, Health, Environment and Community at Sims Metal Management – North America.  In this role, Mr. Murphy leads the “SHEC” function in a business providing end-of-the-pipe recycling solutions for metals and municipal recycling streams. Major operations include material processing, sorting, stevedoring, and shipping by truck, rail and cargo ship.  Prior to Sims, he was a Director of EHS at Ingersoll Rand focusing on field service operations in 37 countries.  Additional prior experience includes Safety Director at a UK-based electric and gas utility, and Health and Safety Manager at a large aircraft engine manufacturing facility.

He received a BA in Biopsychology from Wesleyan University, and a Masters in Public Health from the University of Massachusetts.
