Hans Royal

As a Senior Director of Renewable Energy and Carbon Advisory (RECA), Hans leads Schneider Electric’s RECA Client Development team, specializing in strategic renewable energy advisory for Fortune 500 clients. His team works with large corporate and industrial companies focused on renewable energy strategy, offsite PPAs, supply chain/scope 3 renewables acceleration, and renewable energy investments.

Hans is a subject matter expert in utility-scale PPAs, project development and finance, risk management, supply chain renewables, and corporate energy strategy. He has helped lead Schneider Electric’s commercial efforts to become the dominant, market-leading advisor in the corporate PPA market, with hundreds individual PPA transactions resulting in over 15,000 MW of new wind and solar being installed globally. Hans and his team have been leading the charge to introduce long-term renewable opportunities to clients and to get them engaged to make an impact. Hans has designed and led multiple significant industry innovations, including Schneider Electric’s ground-breaking Supply Chain Renewables programs (highlighted by the Walmart PPA Program, the pharmaceutical industry-wide program Energize, PepsiCo+ REnew, among others), as well as supporting large corporations in becoming tax equity investors.

Hans brings more than 14 years experience in the renewable energy industry, holding various leadership positions focused on business development, renewable energy project finance, and corporate renewables strategy. He helped grow Renewable Choice’s PPA advisory group from its infancy through the acquisition by Schneider Electric and now to the world’s leading corporate PPA advisor. He frequently speaks at renewables industry events, including Smart Energy Decisions, Greenbiz, Verge, Clean Energy Buyers Alliance (REBA), Infocast, AWEA and others.
