Heather Loebner

Heather Loebner has three decades of leadership standing up first-ever functions and global strategy in corporate sustainability, social impact and governance. She has scaled impact-driven results aligned with business drivers and EHS, managing risk and creating commercial value for complex, matrixed Fortune 50 enterprises and blue-chip brands, such as Kuehne+Nagel, ArcelorMittal, HSBC, and PwC. She financially turned around two nonprofits, delivering long-term strategic plans. Recognized for her accomplishments in facilitating transformational change, creating big-picture strategy that delivers on-the-ground results, and creating influential, game-changing collaboratives, Loebner has rebuilt corporate reputation and solved hard-to-abate challenges through a strong stakeholder relationship orientation, systems-wide lens and collaborative approach.

Loebner’s experience includes transportation, supply chain and logistics, metals, mining, heavy manufacturing, technology, healthcare, and the financial sector. She has a breadth and depth of knowledge across decarbonization approaches, clean energy transition, responsible sourcing, circularity, nature-based solutions, health and safety, human rights, and social impact strategies. Leading large and SME value chains, she’s delivered effective roadmaps and translated vision into KPIs for executives through shop-floor employees. In her executive role at Kuehne+Nagel, she scaled clean energy transportation solutions that increased market share and revenue while delivering client carbon reductions of more than 35% against global framework commitments, such as SBTi. She built a bench of thought leadership that earned a 60% open rate and increased client visibility by more than 45%. She built an education bench that deepened and scaled the knowledge-base of internal teams.

As VP, Sustainability, CircleIT, Loebner conveyed substantial ESG value through a keen focus on circularity, fulfilling the company’s exit strategy. At ArcelorMittal, Loebner’s record of climate solutions includes five consecutive U.S. Energy Star Partner of the Year awards. She conceived multiple public-private partnerships, such as the award-winning Sustain Our Great Lakes, which has delivered more than $350 million of on-the ground conservation results, a workforce pipeline collaborative and a health and safety partnership impacting nearly 40,000 employees. As an advisor to the energy, transportation, food and agriculture sectors, she has aligned diverse stakeholders and catalyzed adoption of climate practices that reduced emissions and increased natural resources and biodiversity.

Loebner serves on the Corporate Advisory Board, Shiki Wrap and is Treasurer and Board Member of the Lower East Side (LES) Ecology Center. A frequent speaker, Loebner has her MS, Political Science, University of Illinois and BA, Business, St. Louis University.
