Dr. Martha Acosta has been called the “Godmother of HOP” by author, speaker and Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) evangelist, Dr. Todd Conklin. Both Martha and Todd began their HOP journey at Los Alamos National Laboratory where they worked to stand up the nuclear facilities after they were shut down by congress in response to safety incidents. Martha is now a Senior Moderator in Harvard Business School's Corporate Learning division and has been a learning and development expert supporting governments and global corporations for 25 years. Martha teaches, designs programs, and conducts research on the cognitive and emotional aspects of leadership and safety. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Los Alamos National Laboratory Foundation and is a Trustee of St. John’s College in Annapolis, Maryland and Santa Fe, New Mexico. Martha earned a Doctorate in Human and Organizational Learning from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and a MBA in Organizational Behavior from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Her BA in philosophy, math and science is from St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland.
