Stefan Svensson

Stefan Svensson leads the Environment, Health, Safety and Security (EHS&S) function at Stepan Company as the Global Vice President. Stepan Company is a major manufacturer of specialty and intermediate chemicals used in a broad range of industries. Stepan is a leading merchant producer of surfactants, which are the key ingredients in consumer and industrial cleaning and disinfection products and in agricultural and oilfield solutions. The Company is also a leading supplier of polyurethane polyols used in the expanding thermal insulation market. Stefan has been with Stepan Company for two years and is responsible for developing a functional excellence organization and strategy built on every employee’s active EHS&S leadership, risk management, standardized work processes and continual improvement as well as effective EHS&S communication. Previously, Stefan led the Health, Safety and Environment function at Nouryon’s Polymer Chemistry business unit and earlier in various manufacturing leadership positions for AkzoNobel N.V.. Stefan graduated from Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden, with a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. Stefan relocated from Sweden in 2011 and now lives with his wife Sandy in Aurora, Illinois.
