Kelli McCullough has been with Southern Company since 2010. In her current role as Governance, Stakeholder & Sustainability Manager, Kelli is responsible for overseeing the environmental governance program and working with the environmental leaders from across the Southern Company system to evaluate environmental risks and optimize mitigation processes. She leads Southern Company’s environmental stakeholder engagement initiatives to further relationships with a variety of nongovernmental organizations, socially responsible investors and think tanks. In addition, Kelli leads a team responsible for Southern Company sustainability and conservation initiatives. Prior to her current role, Kelli served as an environmental permitting and siting engineer supporting the development of new natural gas and solar generation projects across the United States. Before joining Southern Company, Kelli worked for the Alabama Department of Environmental Management regulating chemical plants across the state.

Kelli holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from Auburn University and an MBA with a focus on project management from Mississippi State University. Kelli is actively involved in groups to support young women in STEM. Kelli served as co-chair of the executive committee for Auburn University’s 100 Women Strong, an alumni group committed to recruiting, retaining and rewarding female engineering students in addition to being active in Alabama Power’s iCAN groups focused on empowering middle school girls to consider STEM-related fields. She also serves as the troop leader for an 10th grade Girl Scout troop and is an active marching band and robotics team parent. She lives in Mountain Brook, AL with her husband, Robert, and 3 children, Annabelle (17), Scarlett (15), and Franklin (12).
