Kristen Ritter Rivera is a Principal Consultant and manager of the Tetra Tech EHS Compliance group in the Atlanta, Georgia office. In this role, she manages a wide variety of environmental projects, clients, and staff, with a strong emphasis on EPCRA compliance, including Tier II reporting, chemical inventory management, and emergency response planning. Over her 28-year career, she has focused on compliance with environmental rules and regulations both domestically and internationally. As a former regulator, she brings keen insight into the interpretation and application of environmental requirements. As an industry representative, she directly managed global environmental compliance audit programs and served as a key member of acquisition and divestiture teams. Her background also includes environmental compliance auditing, environmental due diligence, environmental reserve management, site investigation, contaminant assessment, conceptual site model development, and remediation of soil, groundwater, and surface water contamination. Her career has spanned regulatory, industry, and consulting roles, giving her a well-rounded understanding of how environmental compliance functions across sectors.
Kristen holds a bachelor’s degree in Earth and Atmospheric Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in Geology from Georgia State University. She is a licensed professional geologist in the states of Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee.
