Martha Coopersmith-Gray is the Director of Environmental, Health & Safety, Sustainability, and Product Stewardship for Amphenol Communication Solutions, a business unit of Amphenol Corporation and a global leader in backplane and board-to-board interconnect solutions.

Martha has more than 30 years of experience in Environmental, Health & Safety, Sustainability, and Product Stewardship. She began her career as a Project Manager with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, managing Superfund cleanup projects, and went on to hold senior EHS leadership positions within the electronics industry at AT&T Bell Laboratories, Lucent Technologies, Agere Systems, and Amphenol.

Throughout her career, Martha has been a leader in advancing environmental compliance and responsible business practices. During her time at Agere Systems, she was part of the industry group that developed the Joint Industry Guide (JIG), which became an important industry standard for communicating banned and restricted substances throughout the electronics supply chain.

Martha has led EH&S compliance, training and management systems across more than 100 global locations and has developed manufacturing risk assessment criteria, auditing protocols, and supplier assessment programs. She has also conducted facility reviews supporting the Responsible Business Alliance, helping organizations strengthen their conformance with responsible business practices.

Martha has focused on bringing product-level environmental requirements into the business process. She has developed customized systems for managing and reporting material content throughout the global supply chain, to ensure that products meet evolving regulatory and customer requirements. She is also leading work related to life-cycle analysis of electronic components to support emerging global sustainability and regulatory requirements.

Today, Martha leads both the Product Compliance and Responsible Business teams at Amphenol Communication Solutions, with responsibilities spanning North America, Asia, and Europe.

Martha holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, has completed graduate-level coursework in Business Administration at Pace University, and has completed Yale University's program Sustainability as a Strategic Business Enabler. She also holds OSHA 1910 certification.

With more than three decades of experience, Martha's career reflects a commitment to protecting people and the environment while helping businesses meet the increasingly complex challenges of global environmental compliance, sustainability, and responsible business.
