Overview
The objective of this research is to exam how AI is being effectively used today and outline practical steps one can take to advance their own AI journey. As Artificial Intelligence (AI) continues to reshape how organizations operate, its role within Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHS&S) functions is rapidly evolving. This research report provides a comprehensive, data-driven examination of how AI is currently being adopted across EHS&S teams, the value it is delivering, and the challenges organizations face as they attempt to scale its use.
Grounded in a quantitative benchmarking survey of EHS&S professionals with complementary commentary from EHS&S leaders experienced with AI implementation, the study explores both foundational and advanced applications of AI—from early-stage use of generative tools to more sophisticated deployments such as predictive analytics, computer vision, and autonomous risk detection systems. By capturing real-world usage patterns, this research sheds light on where organizations are gaining traction, where they are experimenting, and where significant gaps still remain.
