Amy L. DuVall

Amy DuVall is Senior Director of Federal Affairs for the American Chemistry Council (ACC). In this capacity, she advises and advocates for the Council and its member companies on federal chemical management issues, focusing on Congressional and Administration lobbying. Issues in her portfolio have included reform of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), improvements to EPA's Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS), chemical- and product-specific legislation (e.g., mercury, asbestos, formaldehyde, dioxin, nanotechnology, PIC/POPs), appropriations, domestic energy supply, and Green Chemistry/Sustainable Chemistry initiatives. She also manages the American Alliance for Innovation (AAI), a coalition of 200 trade associations regulated by TSCA (chemical distributers, manufacturers, exporters/importers, producers, users).

Before joining ACC's Advocacy Department in the spring of 2007, Ms. DuVall served as Director of External and Government Relations/Counsel to ACC's Responsible Care® Program, a voluntary environment, health, safety, and security performance program. Prior to joining ACC in 2003, Ms. DuVall was in private legal practice in Washington, DC (DLA Piper Rudnick LLP) and New Jersey (Day Pitney), focusing on environmental litigation and legislative and regulatory compliance counseling for the electric utility and chemical manufacturing sectors. While attending law school, Ms. DuVall served in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Office of General Counsel.

Ms. DuVall holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and a Juris Doctor degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo (including Certificates in Environmental Law and Regulatory Law and Policy). She is admitted to both the New Jersey State and District of Columbia Bars.
