Dr. MacNair has extensive experience in environmental and natural resource economics. He has helped clients evaluate, and when appropriate monetize, their impact on biodiversity & natural systems, air quality, water quality, property values, and outdoor recreation. He is an expert in probabilistic modeling, econometrics, survey design and analysis, stakeholder engagement, and benefit-cost analysis. He has used these skills in a wide range of settings from helping clients improve their internal decision making through serving as an expert in complex litigation settings.
His research has been published in Land Economics, Forest Economics, and Marine Resource Economics.
