Emily leads the team responsible for the design, selection, implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of the enterprise strategy for Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH) Common Systems within Lockheed Martin’s Corporate Environment, Safety and Health (CESH) organization. These common Information Technology (IT) systems directly support the implementation of the ESH management system for the corporation and align and enable strategic priorities including digital transformation, global compliance management, risk evaluation and mitigation, modernization, improved operational efficiency, and leadership and employee engagement. She directly engages with all business areas, IT, external suppliers, industry groups and partners.

Prior to leading the Common Systems team, Emily led corporate-wide environmental, safety and health training programs and coordinated elements and standards related to Lockheed Martin’s environmental management system. She also led the ISO 14001: Environmental Management System working group of the International Aerospace Environmental Group (IAEG), an external industry organization focused on advancing innovative environmental solutions for the aerospace industry.

Emily also has extensive experience with Sustainability and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy development, reporting, communications and outreach, research and data analysis and served as the lead for Lockheed Martin’s Sustainability Report and CDP climate change disclosures for many years. Prior to becoming a Lockheed Martin employee, she provided full-time support as a contractor to the CESH Sustainability Program and the Enterprise Operations Go Green Program, where she helped to implement environmental projects and improve communications of the program.

Emily has over 15 years of experience in the fields of environmental compliance, safety & health, sustainability, and climate change. Prior to Lockheed Martin, Emily worked for URS Corporation in Herndon, Virginia, where she led remediation projects and environmental compliance assessment teams primarily supporting the Department of Defense.

A Maryland native, Emily attended Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science. She also earned a Masters in Natural Resources from the Virginia Tech Center for Leadership in Global Sustainability. She is a committee member of the National Safety Council and held leadership roles within the International Aerospace Environmental Group (IAEG). She promotes Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in local schools through Girls Inc. and Junior Achievement.

An avid outdoor enthusiast, Emily spends her free time kayaking, expanding her native plant gardens, hiking with her two dogs or relaxing at her home in southern Maryland.
