Margaret Byrne is a Project Scientist at Woodard & Curran, an integrated science, engineering, design-build, and operations firm specializing in water and environmental projects. An Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP), Margaret has over six years of experience in environmental health and safety (EHS) and stormwater compliance. She partners with and advises clients to strengthen EHS programs by developing practical compliance strategies and advancing sustainability initiatives. Her work spans stormwater, hazardous waste, chemical management, and occupational health and safety, where she conducts regulatory assessments and reports, environmental audits, and program evaluations and management to help clients across diverse sectors reduce risk, maintain regulatory integrity, and improve operational efficiency.

In addition to her technical work, Margaret serves on the Woodard & Curran Foundation’s Advancement Committee, contributing to fundraising and outreach efforts that support environmental nonprofits and community impact initiatives. She also serves on the Environmental Business Council APEX Awards Committee, helping recognize excellence and leadership within the environmental sector across New England.

Outside of work, Margaret enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, gardening, traveling both domestically and internationally, and serving as the go-to dogsitter for friends and family. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies & Sustainability from Merrimack College, where she also minored in Public Health and Food Justice. Margaret resides in the Greater Boston area.
