Randy Boles is the global head of environmental, health, safety and sustainability at Vertex Pharmaceuticals which develops therapeutics for cystic fibrosis and other rare diseases. He oversees the global EHSS program which includes major
operations in Boston, California, and the UK. Randy has over 20 years’ experience in R&D, manufacturing and preclinical operations. Prior to joining Vertex, Randy led the global EHS program at Charles River Laboratories and before
that was a director at Boston Scientific. He has extensive knowledge on sustainability practices in the biotech industry.
He received his B.S. in chemical engineering from University of New Hampshire and a MBA from Babson College. Randy currently resides in the Boston metropolitan area with his wife, a pharmacist, and their two children. You can reach him at randy_boles@vrtx.com.
