James Junkin, CSP, SMS, ASP, CSHO is a practicing safety professional consultant, the chair of Veriforce’s Strategic Advisory Board, and CEO of Mariner-Gulf Consulting & Services. He is Columbia-Southern University’s 2022 Safety Professional of the Year (runner up).
Prior to founding Mariner-Gulf, James was a member of the management team of Mercedes-Benz US International/Daimler- Chrysler’s manufacturing logistics center, building the Mercedes-Benz entire product line of Sport Utility Vehicles, (a first in US operations) and president of Tri-Co Oil Company, Inc. James is an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Navy serving in Desert Storm (Persian Gulf War) Operation Restore Hope (Somalia) and Operation Restore Democracy (Haiti).
Leveraging 25 years of executive leadership, James consults with companies in the heavy industrial, steel, manufacturing, power, maritime and oil & gas industries to improve occupational safety and health issues, risk assessment and prevention, and accident and fatality prevention. He is recognized as one of the nation’s leading instructors and speakers on occupational safety and health, leadership development and compliance.
