PFAS has become a hot-button issue over the last several years, and trying to stay current on the latest developments often feels like drinking from a fire hose. However, understanding current regulatory requirements, rollbacks, and trends is crucial to planning for future use of PFAS-containing chemicals, their handling, and cleanup/remediation. Failure to anticipate and address these risks may result in regulatory non-compliance, costly remediation or investigation obligations, and long-term financial and reputational impacts.
During this hybrid event, we’ll discuss anticipated RCRA corrective action and hazardous waste designation pathways for PFAS, including impacts to waste characterization, disposal practices, and management of legacy contamination sites. We’ll also cover how CWA regulations are being applied to PFAS, with an emphasis on drinking water MCLs, industrial discharges, NPDES permitting, and emerging monitoring requirements.
