About the Conference

NAEM’s EHS+ESG Data and Reporting Tech conference brings together corporate “in-house” leaders focused on EHS & sustainability outcomes and ESG reporting with the marketplace of software, digital solutions, and technology providers.

Submit an Abstract to help TECH24 be a robust showcase of EHS and Sustainability software applications and data management practices. NAEM’s Tech conference began in 2001 and continues to evolve to meet current business needs. Check out last year’s 2023 Tech conference here.

TECH24 Agenda Tracks

We are seeking abstracts that address how corporate Sustainability, ESG and EHS leaders are using software and technology tools to manage data, achieve business objectives and meet reporting requirements. We will organize the conference around three tracks that will broadly address:
  1. EHS Management & Compliance
  2. Carbon Accounting & Sustainability Management
  3. Corporate ESG Reporting

NAEM is looking for proposals that explore the following opportunity and challenge areas:
  1. How emerging technologies are being used to mitigate risk, unlock new data insights, increase operational efficiency (examples include: faster permitting, creating comprehensive training programs, conducting ergonomic assessments, reducing SIFs, etc.)
  2. Case studies from companies that have built integration between their EHS&S systems with other business systems (like HR, ERM or Operations) as well as between different EHS&S systems within their own department
  3. How to create data and reporting infrastructure to respond to the urgency of ESG issues

Speaker Eligibility and Expectations

  • Speakers must be in-house EHS/Sustainability manager(s) who work directly with the software or technology being discussed.
  • Speakers DO NOT have to be NAEM members.
  • Software and Technology Company Representatives accompanying their customer speaker can act as a session moderator, but not as an additional presenter. This includes introducing the session and the speaker(s), supporting the client speaker and answering any general questions about the tool during the Q& A portion at the end of the session.
    • Leaders from Software and Technology companies may only speak as part of a sponsored session. Sponsorship opportunities will be released in November.
  • All sessions are 1 hour including audience Q&A.
  • NAEM conferences stress sharing best practices as well as lessons-learned from their journey. As such, speakers are encouraged to be transparent not only about their successes but also about the challenges they worked through, and how they got the most value out of their software and technology systems.

Selection Process

  • Abstract submissions are due by COB Monday November 27, 2023
  • NAEM will select abstracts that:
    • Clearly identify an in-house EHS&S or ESG professional who is using the system or engaged in the data and reporting programs of the company
    • Align with the topic and format guidelines conveyed above
    • Showcase a variety of the leading software systems in the environmental, health, safety, sustainability and ESG marketplace
    • Feature software or technology tools that have been fully implemented and offer sample reporting data and/or examples of improvements or outcomes that the software is enabling
    • Showcase emerging technologies for improving EHS&S and ESG performance
  • Abstracts will be reviewed and selected on a rolling basis, with all final notifications given by Wednesday December 20, 2023
