NAEM Announces New Chief Executive Officer
Cline brings proven association leadership experience and strategic vision to NAEM. He currently serves as CEO of SHRM Atlanta, where he oversees a chapter of nearly 1,600 members and leads all aspects of the organization, including strategy, operations, membership growth, and financial performance. Prior to joining SHRM Atlanta in 2021, he served as CEO of The Printing & Imaging Association of Georgia for 5 years.
"Throughout the search process, the Board sought a leader who could build upon NAEM's strong foundation while advancing our mission and delivering increased value to our members," said Nicole Wilkinson, Chair of the NAEM Board of Directors. "Jason's experience and collaborative leadership style distinguished him as the right person to lead NAEM into the future."
Cline will be taking over leadership of NAEM from Executive Director Carol Singer Neuvelt, who is retiring at the end of this year. During Neuvelt's 30-year tenure, NAEM has grown from a small group of environmental professionals into the largest professional community for EHS & Sustainability decision-makers. She and long-time Deputy Director Virginia Hoekenga have worked together to make NAEM the strong, thriving organization it is today.
Cline will officially join NAEM the first week of December and will work closely with NAEM staff and Board leadership to ensure a smooth and successful transition. Members will have an opportunity to meet Cline and hear his vision for the organization during NAEM's Virtual Member Meeting in January 2027.
"NAEM enters this next chapter from a position of strength," said Wilkinson. "With an outstanding staff team, engaged volunteers, and a vibrant membership community, we are confident in the organization's future and excited about the opportunities ahead."
